Advice for Learners

1)  You MUST be of a legal age to drive & be able to produce a valid UK provisional Category B driving photo card licence. You can apply for a provisional licence when you reach the age of 15 years & 9 months. However, you cannot take your theory test or start having driving lessons until you are 17 years old unless you get, or have applied for, the enhanced rate of the mobility component of the Personal Independence Payment (PIP).

2) You MUST meet the minimum eye test requirements which means that you must be able to read a standard UK approved number plate at a minimum distance of 20.5 metres/67 feet. If you need to wear glasses or contact lenses in order to meet this requirement, you MUST wear them whenever you drive. Your instructor cannot be responsible if you fail your test because of the eyesight test.

3) You MUST notify your instructor of any change in your ability or entitlement to drive, for example for medical reasons.
